Dr. Harrison has been practicing medicine since 1980. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He was elected to the AOA Honor Society during his junior year at the Medical College. He completed his internship at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and completed his residency in internal Medicine and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals. He was appointed Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor at the Medical College of Georgia in 1977. Dr. Harrison received his Board Certification in Internal Medicine in 1978 and his Board Certification in Gastroenterology in 1983. He opened his private medical practice in 1980. He has been involved in teaching at Mercer Medical School since its inception and presently is an Associate Professor. He has privileges at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia. He is currently the Medical Director of the Endoscopy Center of Middle Georgia, LLC.

Dr. Harrison is married with five children and four grandchildren. He is an alumnus of Middle Georgia College and Georgia College & State University. He is active with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has served as Bishop of the local congregation in Macon, Georgia. He also volunteers with Rebuilding Together. His hobbies include reading, gardening, fishing, writing poetry and short stories.
